"Eternal Flame" for Hestia
Does anyone keep an "eternal flame" for Hestia? I like the idea of keeping a flame on my altar all the time for Hestia. I don't know if it has any historical basis (other than the smoldering hearth fire the ancients had), but I think it'd be a good modern innovation. I use a giant novena candle during the day, and was thinking of symbolically transferring the flame to an electric candle when I go to sleep. Thoughts?

That is no modern innovation — temples in Antiquity would have continually-lit fires, and similar, smaller scale sanctuary lamps have remained a feature of Catholic and Orthodox Christian churches, Jewish synagogues, and Orphic telesteria all the way down through the centuries.
