Building a Shrine to the Dead Empty Building a Shrine to the Dead

How would one going about building a Hellenic shrine and altar to honor their deceased and ancestors? I am looking at a rather small space, so I can't build much.

Thanks.

The souls of ancestors are divine, just as every soul is. They are, consequently, honored much the same as any other minor divinity. An ancestral shrine would customarily feature some representation of one's favored departed ancestors (these were traditionally often in the form of portraits or death-masks), and offerings would be made in the typical manners. Sacrificial/burnt-offering altars might also be dedicated to ancestral souls, just as they are to any deity.
