Alpha and Omega Empty Alpha and Omega

Orpheus called Apollon the Beginning and End. The Greek words for that is Alpha and Omega, so would that be appropriate to call Apollon, or is that more of a modern "Greek" Orthodox term?

Orpheus says 'ἀρχή' (inception) and 'τελευτή' (completion) – not 'alpha' and 'omega' – those are just the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet, used symbolically in the Book of Revelation for the cosmogenetic and cosmolytic powers of God. Though the idea is Hellenistic, the use of those letters specifically in a religiously symbolic sense is a Christian one.

I don't see anything inherently wrong with considering the letter symbolism in a Hellenistic context, though it strikes me as a little strange and not really necessary.
