Wishing Well

Post  Achrelus on Wed Sep 26, 2018 2:40 pm

Even though I’m no longer a part of the community I come back from time to time to check on things, it’s disappointing to see such inactivity for such a long time. I hope that everyone is doing well in life, and maybe that those here found another place to connect them.

People don't much use online forums anymore. I was reading an article about this not long ago.

Yahoo, for instance, is no longer maintaining its Groups and they're declining significantly. All sorts of technical problems and no support anymore. I've heard rumors the whole thing may be taken down or archived within a few years.

"O Best of Gods, blest daimon crown'd with fire . . . hear, and from punishment my soul absolve, the punishment incurr'd by pristine guilt, thro' Lethe's darkness and terrene desire: and if for long-extended years I'm doom'd in these drear realms Heav'n's exile to remain, O grant me soon the necessary means to gain that good which solitude confers on souls emerging from the bitter waves of fraudful Hyle's black, impetuous flood!"
-Iulianic Hymn to Apollon-Helios, ll. 65-106

"Having come for punishment, one must be punished. One must not pull apart the god within oneself."
-Iamblichus, Vita Pythagorica

"Truth would you teach, or save a sinking land,
All hear, none aid you, and few understand."
-Alexander Pope

True.  That I, who was once Out_of_Phlegethon-- an obstreperous Hellenist with Perennialist sympathies who forgot his forum pw years ago and later deleted his old email-- am replying to your several month old post attests to this.

In any case...  I sincerely hope you've been well.

How is everything, old forum chum?
