Athene's Birthday

Post  AgathonZante on Thu Jul 28, 2016 12:48 pm

I have read some sources which say that Plunteria was the celebration of Athene's birthday, whereas others claim is was Panathenaia. Does anyone know for sure which it is?

Plunteria is the cleaning of the temple, statue of Athena (apparently the wooden one that was in the Erechteion) etc.
Athena's birthday is on the 28th day of Hecatombaion (during the Panathenaia) which is from sunset on August 1st to sunset on August 2nd this year.
