Hygeia and the Pentagram Empty Hygeia and the Pentagram

I remember reading some history on the ancient practice of Pythagoras, and read that the Pentagram was used as a symbol of Hygeia, the Goddess of Health and Well Being. Is this true?

Yes, among the Pythagoreans. However, it didn't have the circle around it that's so prevalent today. It was a simple five pointed star, representing the golden ratio.
