Damaged Statues
How would one properly dispose of a statue of a Greek God that has been damaged beyond repair?

Depends on the material. Historically, if it were made of something valuable – some sort of metal – it would very likely be melted down and re-cast into something else. If made of clay, stone or wood, it would likely have been buried.

If it were something combustible, like wood, I would, personally, be inclined to burn it in a sacrificial fire, the ash being deposited in soil. Things such as clay could be ground up and placed in soil, but I'm not sure if that would be beneficial to plant life.
