Dedicating A New Shrine

In accordance with ancient Greek practice, what are the basic and essential steps for dedicating a new shrine and altar to a Deity? I am about to dedicate one to Apollon.

Ritually cleanse the area (asperse it with khernips) and anything set in the area, such as symbols, statues, etc set up on the shrine; invite the deity to allow their pneuma to take up residence in the agalma (a prayer of invocation, perhaps the Orphic Hymn to Apollon); and then offer worship to the deity honored therein on a consistent basis at the site.
