Hello
Hello,
As you can see, I am not really a Hellene, but I decided to register here because I have some questions regarding the Greek religion and traditions in general (oftentimes related to Roman ones, I shall warn you) and was thinking that this could be a good place to ask them. Would you mind me doing that for a little while?
Regards,
M.
p.s.: I know that some here object to the term "Hellene" and I understand their reasons to do so, but I think about the matter in a different way, and in any case this forum seems very specific to me; so, if that's not a problem to you, I will go on using it

Welcome.
Although this forum is generally focused primarily on Greek religion, it is dedicated to all Olympianism – meaning Roman, Etruscan, Anatolian etc.
Discussion and questions of Roman religion are perfectly welcome.
Re: Hello
Hello and greetings from another cultrix deorum romanorum
I used to label myself a syncretist (Shaiva-Shakta Hindu - Graeco-Roman), until I learned from my religious teacher that really it's the same universal Eternal Religion (Sanatana Dharma) which I follow within primarily Roman cultural context.

Hello,
It's nice to see another Roman here :)
From my part I tend to avoid syncretism, but although I'm still trying to see what is specifically Roman in our religion – or Italic, if you will, or even Indo-European, in a broader sense –, what is specifically Greek and where to go from there, I have quite a big interest for traditional Vedic religion and have a few books about it here that I hope to read soon, since from what I could grasp it can be especially helpful when it comes to understanding certain (Roman/Indo-European) myths and traditions better. And I wouldn't mind borrowing something from it (if I really had to), since in this case I wouldn't even consider it syncretism at all - but right now I'm not really planning to ;)
I'm still not sure of how similar what I am referring to is to Sanatana Dharma (I've seen some people claiming that it is not that similar), but it's interesting that you put the two things together.
