Greetings everybody

I'm new to the forum if you haven't already noticed Smile

I have a question with regard to Typhon, the son of Earth and Tartaros. What does he represent in Hellenismos, with regards to the Orphic Way?

Many thanks in advance

Some Orphics may view Typhon as the final child of the ego-infected Earth before it was purified and converted back to its divine nature. Thus, Typhon would be the ultimate expression of the vices of ego, which is why he's depicted as the greatest enemy of the Gods. In that respect he bears similarity to the Christian concept of.Satan, though Typhon's mythology is far older.

Some Orphics might not hold that view, however.

Oh, that makes sense. I noticed that most "monsters" present in the mythology represent some kind of vice or when the ego attempts to delude us.  Thank you very much.

If you are interested in arithmology, it may interest you to know that Typhoeus was associated with the hekkaipentekontagonion (56-angled geometrical figure).
