Home Shrine Pediment
This is a project I began working on earlier this evening:
It's a temple-roof style pediment to hang above the home fane. It's still drying from the gluing and the wood stain, but I'm going to finish it tomorrow by filling in the tympanum space with either some parchment or red brocade and some sort of medal in the center; not sure what yet.
If anyone would like the 'how I did this' break down, let me know. The total supplies needed for this project amounted to less than about $15 US.
You can see my hand there holding it for a size reference.

Re: Home Shrine Pediment
I like it. And the possibilities for what people could put in the center are varied to make it specific and significant to them.
Thanks for sharing.

Its just beautiful! I admire your skill, (and dare I say envy it as well?)
I would love to see your talent put to use in designing a modern temple...

I'm flattered; it's always lovely to have even one's private labors appreciated.Apollyon wrote:Its just beautiful! I admire your skill, (and dare I say envy it as well?)
